Brown Field Expansion

Situation

A branded frozen food manufacturing company was launching a new line of retail frozen Mexican foods and needed to expand the site adding four state of the art production lines and a distribution center.

Problem

I was challenged with completing the expansion on time and within budget within 12 months of breaking ground. The site had a very tight time line in order to hit the new product launch window. This had to occur without any interruption to the existing operations.

Solution

The site was broken up into teams, assigning project leaders to spearhead and own various sub-projects, working with sub-contractors, equipment venders and various trades, utilizing Gantt charts and other tools to track sub-project progress, which fed into the projects master progress report.

Benefits

The above provided a great deal of agility, focus and team ownership. The entire project was completed on time and on budget, all without any interruption to the existing manufacturing operations. This led to a successful, timely and safe product launch.
